Agreement to these terms
These terms of use govern your access to and use of the website at www.hrpapertrail.com, including its blog and the pages for our IncidentTrack and CageCount products (the “site”), operated by Brick HR, Inc. (“Brick HR,” “we,” “us”). By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information collected through the site.
The HR PaperTrail service
This site describes HR PaperTrail and our related products. It does not give you a right to use them. Access to the HR PaperTrail application — including customer workspaces at addresses like yourcompany.hrpapertrail.com — is governed by a separate agreement between Brick HR and the customer. If there’s a conflict between these terms and that agreement, the agreement controls for use of the service.
Descriptions of features on this site are general. Features can change, and some may depend on your plan or configuration. The details that bind us are in your agreement.
Information, not legal advice
Nothing on this site is legal, tax or HR advice. Our articles and product pages discuss employment practices, workplace safety, licensing and recordkeeping — including California rules such as Labor Code §6401.9 — in general terms. Laws change and depend on your facts. Talk to your own attorney or advisor before acting on anything you read here.
HR PaperTrail is software built to support good documentation. It does not make your business compliant with any law on its own, and features that use AI provide decision support for people to review — they don’t make decisions for you.
Screenshots, examples and testimonials
Product screenshots, demo videos and sample records on this site use a fictional company — Redwood Crown Card Club — and fictional people and vendors. Any resemblance to real people or businesses is coincidental.
Customer quotes are the words of the people quoted and reflect their own experience; your results may differ. Where someone quoted has a business or personal connection to Brick HR, we say so next to the quote.
Using the site
You may browse the site, read and share its content, and print or save pages for your own internal, non-commercial reference. You agree not to:
- submit false information, impersonate someone else, or use our forms to send spam or unsolicited messages;
- probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the site, or interfere with its operation or security — including by overloading it, introducing malware, or getting around rate limits or other protections;
- scrape, copy or republish the site’s content in bulk, or use it to build a competing product or dataset;
- use the site in any way that breaks the law or infringes anyone’s rights.
We may limit or block access to the site for anyone who doesn’t follow these terms.
What you send us
When you fill out a form, you confirm that the information is accurate and that you’re allowed to share it. If you send us feedback or ideas about our products, you agree we may use them without any obligation to you. Please don’t send us confidential information or other people’s sensitive personal information through the site’s forms.
Our content and trademarks
The site and its content — text, graphics, screenshots, videos, logos and software — belong to Brick HR or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited use described above, you may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works from them without our written permission.
HR PaperTrail, the HR PaperTrail logo, IncidentTrack, CageCount and Manage with Confidence® are trademarks of Brick HR, Inc.. Other names and logos on the site belong to their owners and appear with permission or for identification only; their appearance doesn’t mean they endorse us.
Third-party links
The site may link to websites and resources we don’t control. We provide those links for convenience and aren’t responsible for their content, availability or practices.
Disclaimers
The site is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. We don’t promise that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components, or that its content is complete, current or accurate.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Brick HR and its officers, employees and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of — or inability to use — the site, even if we were told such damages were possible.
Our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the site is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100). Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.
Indemnity
If you misuse the site or break these terms, you agree to defend and indemnify Brick HR against the claims, losses and reasonable costs (including attorneys’ fees) that result.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the site will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a provision isn’t a waiver of it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We’ll post the new version here and update the effective date at the top. Your continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
